As we head into summer, it’s not just the flowers and shrubbery on the park that are flourishing. Our community of homeowners is burgeoning too after a recent flurry of activity.
As well as reserving a range of plots and homes for future residents, we’ve also celebrated several move-ins so far this year. And with more people due to complete the journey to their perfect retirement home in the near future, it’s a really exciting time at Gateforth Park.
New owners and homes reserved
It’s been lovely to welcome all our new owners and see them settling in to life at the park. We have a very friendly community here, and there is a variety of gatherings and events for residents to take part in, should they wish to do so. Organised by our homeowners and taking place at our on-site Community Centre, they include a regular visit by Marco’s Pizza Van, a family history group, coffee and chat afternoons, and a ‘Friday Social’.
With a number of homes being reserved recently, we are awaiting some lovely new homes coming soon, so keep an eye on our Facebook page to stay up to date. In the meantime, we still have three beautiful show homes in wonderful locations on the park, pictured above. Why not take a look at our site map to see where they are located or view our homes for sale page to find out more details.
Gateforth Park in bloom
We can’t believe it’s a whole five years since we launched Gateforth Park! The site has developed hugely during that time, with Phase 1 completed and sold out in May 2022 and Phase 2 well underway. Much of the planting that was introduced early on is starting to mature, and we continue working hard to make the park look fabulous and maintain it to the highest standards.
The warmer months are here and the greenery and flowers are coming into their own. Our fishing lakes are well stocked and a variety of wildlife can be seen. Our resident swan Elvis has also returned for another year, and has been spreading his wings a little beyond the park, with one of our residents spotting him next door at Selby Golf Course, as pictured above. Perhaps he was taking advantage of the Gateforth Park offer of free membership at the Golf Club! If you would like to join Elvis and find out more about this special offer, please contact us for more details.
Getting out and about
Our new home owners have been discovering the many joys of living at Gateforth Park, and this includes our fantastic location which offers easy access to a wealth of North Yorkshire destinations both close by and further afield.
As well as being surrounded by the beautiful Vale of York countryside, there are various leisure opportunities around the corner. We’ve already mentioned the on-site fishing and neighbouring Selby Golf Club, but down the road you’ll find everything from bowling to table tennis, gardening and amateur dramatics in the thriving village of Thorpe Willoughby and the bustling market town of Selby.
Selby also has some great places to eat and drink, and hosts a monthly farmers market. And the the focal point of the town is its magnificent Abbey, one of many must-visit historic attractions in the area.
Travel a little further from Gateforth Park and you’ll reach towns and cities such as Leeds, York and Harrogate with their variety of leisure and entertainment opportunities, from shopping to dining, spa days and the races.
And with the stunning scenery of the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire coast also easily accessible for a lovely day out, there is no shortage of things to do when you’re out and about from Gateforth Park.
