With the community at Gateforth Park growing by the month, we are pleased to welcome our new park managers to the team.

Amanda Kenney and Andrew Balderson are now living on the park and will be ensuring that everything runs smoothly at all times. They’ll be keeping the grounds immaculate and maintaining the facilities to a high standard. In addition, as resident managers of our gated community here, they will also provide peace of mind for our home owners regarding security on site.

Amanda and Andrew join us at Gateforth following a successful spell at another park run by our owners YHL Parks. In the four years that they were managers at Swaleside Holiday Park, they were integral to its development and success, and their friendly, hands-on approach made them popular with home owners.

Before managing Swaleside, Amanda and Andrew actually owned a holiday home on the park, which provided a tranquil retreat when taking a break from their previous venture running a thriving public house with accommodation near Ripon.

Andrew can turn his hand to many outdoor repairs, having managed the maintenance of the trees, grass and riverbank at Swaleside. Another skill he and Amanda honed during their time at Swaleside was the knack of organising a really good get-together. There’s bound to be a summer barbecue at Gateforth at some point: Andrew worked around the world as a chef for 45 years and his cooking at the annual Swaleside barbecue made it a highlight of the events calendar there!

And when Gateforth Park’s purpose-built community building is up and running, the couple will also be co-ordinating a range of social events and activities. Some of these, no doubt, will be raising funds for the various charities supported by Andrew and Amanda over the years, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Care.

When not working, Andrew and Amanda are big fans of the outdoors, and love gardening, walking and skiing. They are looking forward to exploring the gorgeous Vale of York countryside that surrounds our residential park.

We are delighted to welcome them to Gateforth Park!
